These thumbs are being drawn at such a small size (190 x 125mm)that it wouldn't be practical to hand letter the speech balloons, but if this story was ever going to see (print) publication, I'd give it some thought.
Not that I've got anything against computer lettering, but all my French books are hand lettered. Since starting to produce a lot of art for the States, I've been trying different techniques to better suit the US system of working, where all the dialogue placement is handled further on in the production process. Using the Astro City font on the db's thumbs is giving me a better idea of dialogue placement, size, etc.
No, I'm not THAT Colin Wilson, the writer of The Outsider and all those other books. I'm the comics Colin Wilson, with original stories published in the USA, UK and France...

Have you thought about drawing out your word balloons? I think that would go nicely with your already exquisite work.
